1.  How does the process work to hire a temporary employee?

First, we have an in-depth conversation with our client about the position they need to fill and their requirements.  Next, we research our database and determine who would meet those requirements and find out their availability.  Once we have specific candidates, we provide resumes to our clients for consideration.  Our clients then have the opportunity to interview any candidates they are interested in.  There is no fee or obligation to go through this process.

2.  Can temporaries work part-time?

Yes!

3.  How far is the commute usually?

Commutes vary widely.  Ultimately, it is up to the employee.  We present offers of positions and employees can accept or decline.  The more flexibility employees have, the more opportunities are available to them.

4.  What kinds of jobs do temporary employees do?

Temporary employees usually fill in a position while a recruitment is underway.  A temporary employee might fill in for a Senior Accountant, Finance Director, or City Manager, depending on their background and interests.  Temporary employees do all the normal job functions of that position.  Sometimes we provide temporary employees when someone goes out on maternity leave.  Another thing that happens from time to time is that a client will implement a new computer system and require help with that project or help to backfill the positions of their regular staff who are working on the project.

5.  How often do you think there would be opportunity for a temporary employee to work?

In the current job market, the likelihood of receiving a temporary assignment is good, but cannot be guaranteed.  If you need a "guarantee", this is not the opportunity for you.

6.  How much flexibility is there in temporary assignments?

There is a tremendous amount of flexibility.  You can always say "no" to an opportunity and take off as much time as you want between assignments.  Our clients are usually very flexible about work hours, so you can usually avoid rush hour traffic.  We work with people under a wide variety of circumstances and tailor opportunities to meet their individual needs.
